Fat Actress

An Emmy Award-winning actress (Kirstie Alley, playing a version of herself) struggles to lose weight and revive her Hollywood career.

Loosely based on Alley's real life struggles, this unscripted pseudo-reality comedy follows a semi-fictional film and TV star, in an ongoing attempt to find work and love in the cruel environment of Hollywood.

Created by the actress with Kirstie Alley and co-produced by Sandy Chanley, the show captures the travails of an actress who doesn't quite fit the physical mold in Hollywood but tries anyway to snag roles (in her usual wittily acerbic style) because she truly is a talent.

This Showtime original series features appearances by fellow Scientologists John Travolta and Kelly Preston, as well as Kid Rock, Carmen Electra, Melissa Gilbert, Connie Stevens, and many more.
