Incident at Loch Ness

Incident at Loch Ness is a mockumentary starring Werner Herzog and Zak Penn. The film portrays the making of two fictional documentaries: Enigma of Loch Ness and Herzog in Wonderland.

In the first fictional documentary, Enigma of Loch Ness, Herzog attempts to define the myth of the Loch Ness Monster. The second fictional film, Herzog in Wonderland, shows biographical filmmaker John Bailey's attempts to make a documentary of Herzog's life and films.

Herzog in Wonderland begins as Herzog starts work on Enigma of Loch Ness. Difficulties arise as the producer of Enigma of Loch Ness, Zak Penn, attempts to transform the documentary into a high-grossing blockbuster.

Penn's actions include: Making a remote-controlled Loch Ness monster in order to get "money-shots," hiring an attractive woman, ostensibly the "Sonar Operator", in order to film her wearing a bikini while setting up equipment, hiring a self-proclaimed cryptozoologist who knows little or nothing.

Incident at Loch Ness grows increasingly chaotic as large, black humps start appearing in the lake, accompanied by odd, animalistic sounds.
